
Local apprentice Harry Nesbit has been highly commended with a Maxim Award from Macclesfield College, for his hard work, commitment and dedication to his vocational training programme, carried out at Direct Food Ingredients.
Crowned the winner of the ‘Overall Apprentice of the Year’ Award category, Harry, (19) began his apprenticeship at Macclesfield-based firm, Direct Food Ingredients after leaving All Hallows Catholic College.
The leading ingredients specialist employs apprentices to provide younger people in the local community with a chance to kick-start their careers, whilst learning real life skills.
Steve Loake, managing director of Direct Food Ingredients, said, “We offer great opportunities for apprentices to gain valuable insight whilst securing relevant, on the job experience during their placements. We also encourage apprentices to build upon their time with us and develop their skills further within the company once their placements are completed.
“Harry has soon become a very popular and valued member of the Direct Food Ingredients’ team and we would like to congratulate him on this wonderful achievement.”
Harry explained, “Throughout my time at Direct Food Ingredients, I have been given new and exciting opportunities to benefit my development, and I am really proud that my hard work and commitment to my apprenticeship has been recognised with this award.”
The Maxim Awards, part of Macclesfield College, recognise the achievement, commitment and hard-work its learners continue to demonstrate whilst studying with its dedicated vocational training unit, Maxim.
