As the end of Ramadan approaches, The Broadway shopping centre has announced a weekend of food, festivities and fun for the family on the 24th and 25th of June while Eid celebrations sweep homes across the city.
Food-fans will be thrilled to find a variety of unique dishes being served up on the malls of The Broadway, as a trained team shows Bradford shoppers how special EID treats and dishes are made. If this works up an appetite, shoppers can taste some of the scrumptious traditional flavours of EID.
There will be plenty of fun for the kids too, as parents are encouraged to bring their children along to show off their cookie decorating skills. Each child will get two cookies to decorate with colourful icing and tasty decorations, which they can then take home with them.
"Whether its to try a few tasty delights, learn some new crafts, or just to enjoy the great atmosphere, we are proud to welcome everyone to come and join in with the festival spirit."
Ian Ward, Broadway general manager
The sound of celebration will sweep through the shopping centre, as well known band Ronak Mela Baja drums up a party atmosphere with free dance classes available for families and shoppers.
The weekend really will be a treat for all the senses, as two henna artists will be on hand to paint shoppers’ hands with beautiful and colourful designs. The expert henna artists will hold classes every hour, so that shoppers can learn the craft for themselves. These will also be broadcast through Facebook LIVE.
General manager of The Broadway, Ian Ward, says: ‘We’ve put a lot of work into this at The Broadway, and it looks set to be a very special weekend.
‘Whether it’s to try a few tasty delights, learn some new crafts, or just to enjoy the great atmosphere, we are proud to welcome everyone from the amazing city of Bradford and beyond to come and join in with the truly wonderful festival spirit.’
